Raritan Valley Community College’s new West Building is a 17 classroom facility of approximately 40,000 square feet. The building was the linchpin in the College’s previous ten year master plan, and was developed to allow the College to expand their program offerings at their centralized campus.
With a flexible program supporting a technologically-rich delivery of all College instructional programs, the West Building serves as a hub for the western portion of the campus. Ample student lounge, gathering, and small study spaces, combined with multiple access points to connect the building to several exterior campus spaces, allow the building to function as an integral campus element beyond simply a straightforward classroom facility.
Beyond providing classroom instructional space, one key program element was the relocation of the College’s IT helpdesk and computer services personnel to a single centralized location. Students now have a “one-stop shop” for their IT needs, located within the most technologically-rich building on campus.
